Hello long lost friends! It’s been a crazy two weeks since I packed up and headed out for Chattanooga. I’m finally getting settled in and learning my way around town. I have a few shoots I’m finishing up editing and will hopefully be posting soon. But today I’m excited to announce that the lovely ladies of the On To Baby blog are featuring my session with The Scott Family on their blog again today. You may remember that they featured their maternity session several months ago, and now it’s Evie’s turn to make her On To Baby blog appearance.  Go check it out here!

I came across this on Eric Ryan Anderson’s blog. So true. Wish I had come across this sooner so I could have shown it during my Workshop! As artists, we tend to be our own worst critics. Mostly because we know what we are capable of, and what we dream to be, but our work just seems to fall short of our aspirations. But it’s that drive to continuously improve that makes a great artist. This is, of course, not to say that I feel like I’ve “arrived” by any means. Quite the contrary. This really resonated with me because I’m currently fully engaged in the fight myself. And, in a way, I hope I always feel that way. I’m afraid of the day when I will ever think I’m as good as I’ll ever be, because that will be the day my work will become stale and lifeless, both to myself and to everyone else.

As several of you already know, there have been plans in the works over the past few months for me to move to Chattanooga, TN. The date is finally set in stone and I will be packing up and moving out in just two short weeks…a bit earlier than originally expected, thus the short notice. Of course I’ll be coming back for events and shoots I have already booked, and will continue to book sessions in the Charlotte area when possible.  I will miss everyone here so much, but look forward to what lies ahead in Tennessee.  Thanks for all of the support and encouragement as I set out on this new adventure.
