A few days before Christmas I got to travel to Mississippi to photograph the wedding of some fellow Freed-Hardeman University students. My brother, Than, was actually in the wedding, so that was fun because we got to road trip together. Than and I got to know Michael (known better by his friends as “Watson”) when we all studied abroad together in Europe a few years ago. I hadn’t gotten to meet Stephanie in person until we got in town for the wedding but she’s great…so easy going and fun. Her uncle has a soybean farm so we got to use his field for the wedding party shots which was so much fun, especially because the lighting was awesome and clouds were rolling in to darken the sky a bit.
Also, Stephanie and Michael love vintage, whimsical things so that was the theme for their wedding. Keeping with the theme, I processed some of their photos to have an antique look. Thanks you two for letting me photograph your wedding…and I hope you are staying warm in IOWA!

Stephanie and Michael wanted to have a moment to get to see each other before we started the photos of the wedding party.

I always love these times because I get to capture their sincere expressions!

When I realized three of the five guys had been in karate at some point in their lives (actually, all black belts if I remember correctly), I decided we should have a little fun with it!

Michael’s face cracks me up in this picture every time!

Something was really funny apparently…

LOVED these wedding cake toppers!!

The groom’s cake was a surprise…and Michael really liked it, obviously.

I couldn’t decide on my favorite ring shot so I just decided to post both.

Boo Scott - Kim your photos rock!
Jennifer - Kim…I mean…these are amazing! I love the pictures! You did a fabulous job!
Jennifer - Oh and I love the shot of the rings in the birds nest! So cute! And her ring is beautiful!
Amanda Scott - These are all so crisp and PERFECT! You are amazing. And I looove their details! What a fun wedding!
Kelvin P. - Utterly outstanding! Your photos somehow appear more ‘real’ than what I saw with my own eyes! You have a genuine talent for composition, lighting and facility with your equipment; Steph and Michael were fortunate to have you taking the shots!
than - Do my eyes deceive me, or did you photoshop a combine and pickup truck out of one of those pictures?
Kim - Ah, the beauty of Photoshop! 😉
