Amanda and I met in college and had some art classes together but it wasn’t until my last semester at school that we really became good friends. As unusual as it is, we’ve actually become even closer now that we’ve both graduated and live practically across the country from each other. I’m in North Carolina and she’s in OKLAHOMA! We’ve both become full time photographers (you can go here to check out her work!) which makes it nice because we can swap stories about work and even meet up every now and then for work related things…such as this Love Affair Workshop, and I also helped photograph a wedding with her a few months ago in Atlanta. She’s determined to try and get me to move out to Oklahoma so we can start a business together. Haha, we’ll see…
If you haven’t already checked out my previous two posts about the Love Affair Workshop, you can scroll down to them to find out what the photography workshop is all about. The photos in this post are not from the workshop, but taken while we were in Atlanta to model for the workshop. I thought today would be the perfect time to post some shots from my little photo session with Amanda because today is her birthday! Happy Birthday Amanda! Love you!
Oh, did I mention Amanda is GORGEOUS?! I’m convinced it’s impossible to take a bad picture of her…which then makes it impossible for me to narrow down my favorites. So, I’ve just decided to post all of them! Hope you enjoy!

The main reason why we even decided to do this shoot is so we could both have a cool photo to use for the “about me” section of our websites. Below are a few I took of Amanda, and she took the one of me in my bio section at the top of my blog.

Like I explained in my last post with Erin, we had fun playing around with different lighting effects using just the available light from street lights, buildings, etc. I’ll definitely be doing that again! Anyone up for a photo session in Uptown Charlotte?!

Ok ok, so I will confess that these next couple of shots weren’t completely just available light. I borrowed an LED mini flashlight from a guy across the street to get these. At first I didn’t really like the look of the blue light the LED puts off, but I think it grew on me…

Seriously, could I have asked for better lighting to shine from the side of this building?!

ginny phillips - These are all so good! Can I be included in the swapping of Photoshoots next time? 🙂
