Over the past few years I’ve been doing a lot of contemplating and soul searching and going back-and-forth in my head, and finally made the decision earlier this year to step away from the portrait and wedding industry, at least for the time being.  I’m sure I will still shoot the occasional wedding or portrait session,  but for now I am excited to take my photography in a new direction, as well as to start taking on more graphic design projects.

The last wedding we booked and shot was for these two close friends of ours, which was a great and special way to wrap things up.  Gorgeous day at the lovely Gray Dove venue in Ooltewah, TN.

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing my brother-in-law’s wedding at Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club. Ryan and Brittany actually began dating not long after Rob and me, and she’s been attending family functions for almost the same length of time, so while she’s felt like part of the family for so long now, we are so excited to have her finally sharing the Feisley name.  Welcome to the family Brittany, and congratulations to you both! Love you guys.

I’ve been photographing this couple since their wedding day. Our fourth session together was in honor of the arrival of their sweet baby boy, Judah.  One of the great benefits of being friends with other artists is the possibility of making trades.  Amanda is a talented painter (we had painting classes together in college and her work was always the best in the class…light-years beyond my humble painting skills.)  She was even featured in January’s issue of Anthology Magazine, where they discuss her process of making her own oil paint. In exchange for photo shoots, Rob and I are now the proud owners of three of Amanda’s paintings, the latest of which is one we’ve had our eyes on since we saw it in one of her gallery shows three years ago. I think we ended up with the better end of the deal. 🙂
